Creating an injectable
A walk through the form, card by card, from the name to the first save.
Open Storefront › Injectables and press New injectable. The same form is used to edit an existing one. Saving a new injectable creates a draft; it shows on the storefront only after you publish it. See Publishing and status.
The form is a stack of cards. Some cards appear only for certain delivery routes; the notes below say which.
Details
- Name and Description.
- Priority (higher renders first): when several injectables land on the same page, the higher priority renders first.
- Exclusive group (optional): give several injectables the same group name and only one of them renders on a page view.
Content
- Run as A/B test: split the content into variants. See A/B tests.
- Content source: Inline content, or one of your saved blocks. Choosing a block replaces the editor with a note: the injectable renders that block, and editing the block updates every injectable that uses it. See Blocks.
- With inline content, the editor for the chosen Content type appears. See Content types.
Live preview
Shown for inline content that is not an A/B test. See Preview.
Placement
The Delivery picker and the placement fields for the route you pick. See Delivery.
Frequency cap
Shown for the delivery routes that can gate visitors; see the table in Delivery. Limit how often visitors see this turns the cap on. See Targeting, schedule and frequency cap.
Design
Where the styling comes from: the store design, no styling, or settings for this one injectable. See Content types.
Schedule
Shown for every route except a static page; see the table in Delivery. A start and end for the whole injectable. See Targeting, schedule and frequency cap.
Targeting rules
Shown for the routes that evaluate rules; see the table in Delivery. Who sees the injectable and on which pages. See Targeting, schedule and frequency cap.
Saving
If something is wrong, a summary titled This injectable cannot be saved yet lists each failing section with a link that jumps to it. Otherwise press Create draft (new) or Save changes (existing). An existing injectable also has Duplicate.
Every save adds a version you can go back to. See Publishing and status.
